On Monday 27th February, the boys and girls in rang a cúig represented Scoil Mhuire at the ESB Science

Blast in the RDS with their investigation into the question ‘Is there a difference in the taste of branded

and non branded foods?’ The Science Blast is a non-competitive educational programme that allowed

the boys and girls to engage with their STEM skills within the classroom in a fun filled, interactive and

child-led way. They spent the day presenting their project, exploring the exhibitor area, going to science

shows and even learning about all the other projects that 4,000 boys and girls across Ireland had created.

After putting in a huge amount of work into their project, the boys and girls were delighted to receive

brilliant feedback and a trophy from the adjudicator, food scientist Niamh Burke. Well done to all the

pupils in rang a cúig!
